Become a Jesus follower

Jesus is not just looking for ‘believers’, Jesus is looking for followers. He called people to surrender their lives to Him as their Saviour and Lord, and to enter the blessing of living life WITH, LIKE and FOR Him.

Anyone who wants to make this step of faith will meet with someone who will walk them through the ABCs of becoming a Jesus follower. On an appropriate Sunday they will be invited to publicly declare their faith, with the love and support of the church.

Those who have not yet been baptized are invited to receive God’s sign of love through baptism. Those who have young children may also receive baptism for their children.

The following commitments represent the ABCs of becoming a Jesus follower:

I Admit that I need Jesus to save me from the power and penalty of sin!

I Believe that Jesus is my Savior, that I am God’s child and that God’s Spirit lives in me!

I Commit myself with God’s help to following Jesus as my Lord, to serving him with my life, and to actively loving others in his name!

Every year we ask people to partner with us by renewing their commitment to Maranatha and our mission.

These are the commitments we ask partners to make:

• PRAY: Your commitment to pray is more than just saying a prayer. It is a passionate desire to see our church and ministry flourish and succeed in fulfilling its mission!
• SERVE: Your commitment to serve involves picking an area of serving in the church or community where the Lord can use your gifts to bless others, and draw them to Him!
• GIVE: Your commitment to give is your pledge to contribute to Maranatha’s budget on a regular basis so that we can continue developing followers of Jesus.

October is our Partnership Campaign. Through the month we will reflect on the biblical themes of mission and commitment, and on the last Sunday of the month people are asked to submit a Commitment Card.
